7-Day Sleep Tracker
Log your sleep and wake times for 7 days. The Chinese Body Clock (子午流注) maps each two-hour period to a specific organ system — this tracker shows you which organs your sleep is helping, and which it's hurting.
Your sleep log
Record your bed time and wake time for each day. Be as accurate as you can — the body clock works in 2-hour windows.
Chinese Body Clock
The 12 two-hour periods (shichen, 時辰) each correspond to an organ system at peak activity. Sleep during an organ's window supports it. Wakefulness during its window strains it.
How the Chinese Body Clock works
The 12 meridians cycle
Traditional Chinese Medicine holds that Qi flows through the 12 primary meridians in a 24-hour cycle. Each meridian has a two-hour peak window. During that window, the associated organ is at its most active — for repair, for function, for detoxification.
Sleep = organ repair time
The Liver repairs during 1-3am. The Lungs peak at 3-5am. The Large Intestine activates at 5-7am (which is why morning bowel movements are a sign of health). When you are awake during these windows, the organ's repair cycle is interrupted.
Consistency over duration
The body clock rewards consistency more than total hours. Sleeping from 10pm-6am every night supports every organ in sequence. Sleeping from 2am-10am — same 8 hours — misses the Liver and Lung windows entirely. The tracker scores both: duration AND alignment.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Chinese Body Clock?
The Chinese Body Clock (子午流注, zǐ wǔ liú zhù) is a 2,000-year-old system from Traditional Chinese Medicine. It maps the 24-hour day into 12 two-hour periods, each governed by a different organ meridian. The theory: Qi circulates through the body in a fixed sequence, and each organ has a two-hour window where it is most active — and most receptive to repair.
How accurate is the tracker?
The tracker compares your sleep window against the classical meridian clock — this is the same framework used by TCM practitioners. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose sleep disorders. What it does is show you, in concrete terms, which organ windows you are sleeping through and which you are awake during. Patterns that repeat across 7 days tend to be worth paying attention to.
What's a good sleep score?
70+ is solid. 85+ is excellent. Below 50 indicates your sleep window is significantly misaligned with the body clock — typically from going to bed after midnight, which misses the Liver (1-3am) and Gallbladder (11pm-1am) windows entirely.
