Dog in 2027
A break relationship, plus the three-punishment. Two layers of friction, and a good spring before either arrives.
The Dog and the Goat form a breaking pair (戌未破), and 2027 adds the 丑戌未 three-punishment on top. Neither is a clash. Both are the kind of friction that interrupts a plan without ending it.

Break (戌未破), plus the punishment
Break, or destruction, sits between harm and clash in severity. It does not create new problems so much as interrupt existing ones: plans stall and restart, a role shifts, a routine that worked in January stops working in June. The Dog values stability, which makes this the sign least comfortable with the year's particular texture.
The second layer is the 丑戌未 three-punishment, which the Dog shares with the Ox and the Goat. Punishment is friction inside a structure: procedure, paperwork, the process that should have been routine. Dog and Ox both carry it in 2027, which is why both land in the same caution column for reasons that are not identical.
The element reading is the Dog's best argument for optimism. 戌 is dry earth holding fire, and the year is dry earth as well, so the Dog's own element is doubled. Metal drains earth, which is why the color advice below is metal rather than fire.
Career
Expect interruptions rather than reversals. A project pauses and restarts, a responsibility moves sideways, a timeline agreed in the autumn changes. The Dog's instinct is to grip tighter when things wobble, and this is the year to test the opposite: let the disruption pass through rather than fighting it. The Dog who holds a looser grip finishes with the same position and less damage.
Money
Break years are hard on equipment and on anything already marginal. Budget for replacement rather than for growth: the appliance, the laptop, the repair. The other item is procedural and comes from the punishment layer rather than the break. Check the paperwork. The form that was filed correctly last year is the one that comes back this year.
Relationships
The break relationship does not manufacture conflict. It exposes what was already there, which is why the Dog's 2027 tends to surface one fraying relationship rather than several new arguments. Naming it directly is the Dog's natural move and the right one here. What the year punishes is the decision to wait until after the holidays.
Health
The nervous system is the Dog's item in a break year. The sign runs at a higher baseline of alertness than most, and the year's interruptions keep that baseline elevated. Exercise helps, sleep helps more, and caffeine and alcohol both work against the specific edge the Dog is managing. Nothing here is dramatic. It is cumulative.
The months that suit you
A Chinese month runs from one solar term to the next, so these windows do not line up with calendar months. The dates below are the terms themselves, taken from the 2027 ephemeris rather than rounded to the nearest week.
| Month | Dates | Relationship | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rabbit month · 惊蛰 Awakening of Insects | Mar 6 - Apr 5 | Six-combination (六合) | Use it |
| Tiger month · 立春 Start of Spring | Feb 4 - Mar 6 | Half-combination (半合) | Use it |
| Horse month · 芒种 Grain in Ear | Jun 6 - Jul 7 | Half-combination (半合) | Use it |
| Dragon month · 清明 Clear and Bright | Apr 5 - May 6 | Clash (冲) | Watch it |
| Rooster month · 白露 White Dew | Sep 8 - Oct 8 | Harm (害) | Watch it |
Your spring arrives first. The Rabbit month (Mar 6 to Apr 5) is your six-combination partner and the Tiger month (Feb 4 to Mar 6) is a trine partner, so February and March run together as the year's best window. The Horse month (Jun 6 to Jul 7) completes the fire trine. The Dragon month (Apr 5 to May 6) clashes with you and the Rooster month (Sep 8 to Oct 8) harms you, so the year hands the Dog a good start and then asks for patience.
What to actually do
- Schedule the thing that matters into February or March. The Dog's best window opens first and closes early.
- Wear white, gold, or silver. Metal drains the earth that 2027 doubles in the Dog's chart.
- Keep a repair buffer and re-check the paperwork. The punishment layer is procedural, and it is cheap to pre-empt.
The chart turns in February, not in January

Frequently asked questions
What does 破 mean for the Dog in 2027?
Break, or destruction, is the interruption relationship: less severe than a clash, more disruptive than harm. For the Dog it shows up as plans that stall and restart, routines that stop working, and small equipment failures. It exposes weak points rather than creating new ones.
What is the 丑戌未 three-punishment?
It is a group of three branches, the Ox, the Dog, and the Goat, that the tradition reads as internal friction: procedure, paperwork, and process rather than conflict between people. In a Goat year both the Ox and the Dog carry it, on top of their own relationship to the year branch.
What is the Dog's lucky color in 2027?
White, gold, and silver. Metal drains earth, and 2027 doubles the Dog's own earth element, so metal colors lighten the year. The southeast, which holds the wealth star, is the direction to favor.
Which months are best for the Dog in 2027?
February 4 to April 5 is the best window, covering your trine month and your six-combination month consecutively. June 6 to July 7 completes the fire trine. April 5 to May 6 clashes with the Dog, so keep major launches out of it.
