Drag the grid to align the bottom row (Career / Knowledge / Travel) with your front door wall. Use the scale slider if your floor plan is larger or smaller than the grid. Use the rotate slider for angled walls.
How to align the grid
- Find which wall contains your front door. That wall is the bottom edge of the Bagua grid.
- The front door itself should sit in one of the bottom three cells: Career (center), Knowledge (left), or Travel (right).
- Drag the grid so that wall lines up as the bottom row.
- Scale the grid until it covers the full floor plan.
- Rotate slightly if your walls are not perfectly aligned with the grid.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Bagua grid align with the front door or with compass directions?
There are two schools of thought. The Black Sect (BTB) method aligns the grid with the front door wall; the bottom row always contains your front door. This is what the tool defaults to. The Compass School method aligns the grid with true compass north. If you want to use compass directions, rotate the grid using the slider until North on the overlay matches your actual north. Both methods produce valid readings. BTB is simpler for apartments and non-rectangular homes.
What if my floor plan is not a rectangle?
Most homes are not perfect rectangles, and that is fine. The Bagua grid stretches conceptually over the entire property, including missing corners. A missing area (a "missing corner" in feng shui) in a particular sector suggests that life area needs extra attention. For example, a home missing the Wealth corner (SE) may benefit from adding a plant or a purple accent just inside the nearest wall to that gap.
What do I do if a bathroom falls in the Wealth sector?
A bathroom in the Wealth sector is a common concern. Bathrooms drain water, and water symbolizes money in feng shui. The remedy: keep the bathroom door closed at all times, keep the toilet lid down, and place a mirror on the outside of the bathroom door to symbolically push the energy back into the house. A plant in that bathroom also helps; the Wood element absorbs the draining Water energy.
Can I analyze a single floor of a multi-story home?
Yes. Upload each floor separately and analyze them one at a time. The Bagua grid applies to each floor independently. However, the ground floor carries the strongest energy for Career and Wealth, while the upper floors carry stronger energy for Relationships and Fame. Basement spaces weaken the energy of whichever sector they fall into.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your floor plan image never leaves your device. This tool runs entirely on client-side JavaScript; there is no backend, no database, and no image storage.
